The Cow,Lizard & Other Escapades...

I have a confession to make. I am scared of cows. but not like loony who jumps around even if she is in the car and the cow is 500 feet away. I am scared when I have to cross a road and the bloody animal is standing right there..mooing itself to glory and swatting the flies away only to reveal an ugly butt crack. Anyhoo, one fine morning, I am happily walking in the park, the weather is perfect, the play list on the ipod seemed to be churning out good numbers, basically, everything was good until a cow decided to merrily take a stroll in the park.

For some odd reason, she decided to scare people that day and began running about in the opposite direction (at this point I had frozen in my way because I wanted to see in which direction she was running) ,suddenly out of the blue, this wicked creature decides to run in my direction which resulted in me running (given my knee injury I am not allowed to run, but hell, its a cow we're talking about here!!!) So yes, you can laugh now trying to picture me running and the cow running after me.

I tripped, and my beautiful silver chain got caught in a shrub and broke :(  thankfully, some boys playing in the park managed to get the cow to chase them (the creature seriously must've thought we're playing a game of Tag) Managed to get my broken chain and the pendants back but after a nice session of verbally abusing the cow in my head, i walked home only to have a pathetic day ahead.

Trust me, a cow chasing you is NOT funny. I repeat NOT funny.

For some very strange reasons, I have never been afraid of lizards, but I do know a lot of people who are absolutely terrified of this reptile. One in particular (now) being a very close friend @zenmaster3 , zenny and me started our twitter conversation with him yelling at me in public (on twitter) because I teased him about how the lizards in his room would now start a family under his bed. Zenny thinks lizards belong to the dinosaur family (most likely true, he also believes the Japanese Earthquake & Tsunami is because of Godzilla deciding to awake from its slumber). So, this Saturday, while India battled it out against Sri Lanka in the finals of the Cricket World Cup 2011, i was battling the urge to play a prank on zenny. I managed to click a picture of a lizard crawling on the window and forwarded the same to him. Little did i know, my prank would gross him out..and yes, once again, i was yelled at and was told that I would no longer be spoken to. After a round of apologies, zenny still wouldn't come around to talking.

So zenny, whenever you do come across this post, I am very sorry for the prank I played. It was all in good fun and no hard feelings. :)

Oh, and India won the cricket world cup. 28 long years. 28 bloody long years and the team finally tastes sweet victory. The below few lines are something which I received by a proud country mate settled in Australia...every word makes sense and so..These are some of Life's lessons from My Country's world cup victory:

1.Success is a long term story. Dhoni (the team captain) & Gary Kirsten (the coach) had a 3 year game plan. The win was a culmination of their game plan.
2.When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Whenever there was pressure, someone stood up and fought. One classic example - Dhoni walking in ahead of Yuvraj in the final, to maintain the left-right balance.
3.Thinking & strategy beats posturing. Dhoni was calm, rarely made the wrong call, and played to a plan.
4. Stand by your mates - So what if Nehra had a bad day versus South Africa. Pick him in the crunch game against Pakistan and expect him to rock. He will.
5. Transcend your limitations - An Indian fielding team diving, sliding and throwing themselves all over the field? They did it because they believed they could.
6. Let the team bask in the glory. And here's the challenge - spot Dhoni in the winning celebrations.Low key & in the background.
7. Praise rather than critic. Dhoni's public statements, only positive. All the good stuff said in public. All the not-so-good stuff, reserved for private discussions.
8. Delegate. Let the senior members of your team know that you need them, the team needs them and let them contribute.
And finally when you win, it is okay to cry.Lots.

Cheers to a well deserved and a wonderful victory!!

~Shine On~
