Nyoda Nyoda Nyoda - long due-note of Thanks

so for most of you who didn't know this, i lived in Noida, away from home for a good two years. two bloody awesome years. The best years if i may say so.

Initially what i thought was the biggest mistake, turned out to be something good. (for a change!) November 1, 2008 saw me joining a new organisation. Afraid? hell yeah i was! but along with that fright came along a whole lot of excitemnet. what would it be like living in a house with 13 girls as house mates and a girl from the city of Agra as my roomie.

I remember driving to C22, with mum,dad and baggage in tow. (yes, my mum cannot do without seeing where and in what conditions her child will be living..i Love you maa!) On our way, we passed several Maternity homes. Now for any parent whose daughter is going to be living in a city infested with crime and well also given the fact that they knew i was growing up, i recall this absolutely hilarious advice Dad gave me when he was dropping me off to work while Mum sorted out my bed etc etc.. Dad said, (stern expression with a comic touch) 'baby, please ensure i don't have to ever come visit you in any of these "homes". Well yes, my excitement has its levels, and i think it crossed all levels, cuz i burst out laughing at Dad's "advice".

My first Roomie - Meetu Gandhi (Meetu G), IT madwoman, always on the phone, scatterbrain, but a complete sweetheart! We gelled the moment we met and ofcourse, no better way than to get talking over some cake. (Yes, maa also goes bonnkers baking. she doesnt need an occassion always!)
Meetu left the house after a couple of months since she got posted elsewhere, but the good thing is we're still intouch!

Office, Day 1. scared. Why? because the entire team was nothing but a bunch of bullies and the entire team barring two or three of us were unmarried. Along comes Rohit Wattal , to take me from the lobby to the floor where our team sat. Till today i tease him about how we both checked each other out and how i tagged him as 'Cute' (giggles)
Wattal was the team champ, and day 1 i knew he was competition. He was the person i wanted to compete with. ALWAYS. But i also thought him to be a complete snob. Why? because this boy had the entire female population cooing over him, and as much as he denies it, Rohit Wattal, i know you loved the attention! :p
Anyhoo, days went on, Wattal & me ended up winning most of the team accolades and well, ended up being friends ! (We still are friends.) Smoke breaks, coffee breaks, post office, weekends, Wattal or cheetah as we named him,was my buddy. (cant thank you enough Bubs)

Roomie#2 Deepti .. another IT madwoman from Agra in a long distance (now very happily married to the guy),scooty girl, total Jat background and initially very scary with a lot of lesbian traits. She was fun and a total fighter! Yes, she was louder than me! but she was a good bodyguard! :D i never felt unsafe with her around. She just had *THE* look to kill anybody right on the spot.

A year passes by, and Wattal introduces me to his former band. The drummer kukster and me become friends, i get introduced to the entire band and i get invited to come jam with them. THIS was fun. Yes, the band had its share of ups and downs, but we did have fun! Thank You Rawat, kukster, Parshu & Junglee Chooha. Had it not been for you guys, i would not understand what music politics is and how its played. I miss the Jam Pad more than anything.

How can i ever forget... Rajinder Raina a.k.a Raju. My last night and drinking session at 'Ganga' would not have been complete if it were not for him.

Kunal, who had a massive crush on GB, but ended up being my friend since he and Roomie#2 worked in the same office and he was a sooper close to the landlords family friends son. Had it not been for him, i would've probably been starved to death! Last minute dinner plans, coffee n cake cravings, and ofcourse bday cake for whoever had a bday in the house, Raizu was our man friday...although he still never managed to get laid by anybody... hahahahaha.

All these thoughts floated back on Friday when thankfully got to meet Amritanshu (Bahubali) & Wattal. Driving around Noida with them both having their whiskey in hand just brought back all the lovely cherishable memories of the daru sessions in Wattals black beauty. The drives when i was low and miserable. The sooper late night movies. The Ice Creams and smokes at the park. The encounters with Noida police. The fights in C22, the parties in C22.
I miss all of that.

A BIG BIG shoutout and a heartfelt Thank You to Meetu G.,GB (for what its worth),Deepti, Kunal, Neha, Noble Warning and last of all Rohit. for all those pick up and drops, food, drinks and just helping me fall in love with the Rock n Roll city of Noida.

THANK YOU!

p.s: have avoided a lot of people, only for the sole reason they dont matter to me anymore.
